Why I meditate (and how you can learn, too)


I used to think that meditation was for buddhist monks or new (or old) age hippies.  I envisioned it as an extreme, you now the vegan eating and vow of silence type of extreme.  I then discovered my new doctor who told me I should try meditation; heck she had already convince me to see an acupuncturist and I will still in pain.  What did I have to lose? I signed up for a 6 week course with a local meditation teacher, Michelle.  I did the class and while I felt great in the class, it didn t really stick.  Once I left I just didn t have time, and even worse once I was done with the class I didn t know where to go or what to do anymore. I felt lost so I dropped it. Then, give it 2 months and I realized for some reason that mediation had improved my life.  You are probably thinking to yourself, what is meditation?   Putting space between your thoughts.
